Texas is home to over 16,000 historical markers. And now, there is an app available to assist you in finding them!

Features:

  • Onboard marker database for seamless browsing without an internet connection.
  • Browse markers by geographic locations, including cities and counties.
  • Browse markers by governing agencies, manufacturers, and topics.
  • Discover attractions where markers can be found, such as museums, cemeteries, state parks, and historic districts.
  • Utilizes Location Services in the background (optional) and notifies you when entering a different Texas county. (Note: Continuous use of GPS may reduce battery life.)
  • Keep track of marker visits.
  • Update marker coordinates (requires device with GPS radio).
  • Record marker conditions.
  • Includes reported marker conditions and text for numerous markers, with new additions frequently being made.
  • Link marker records to existing pictures from your Photo Library (please note that photos are not included with the app).
  • Share your favorite markers via Mail and iMessage.
  • Backup your user database to your computer using iTunes File Sharing. The backed-up data includes: Checked-in markers, captured marker coordinates, favorite markers, flagged markers, shared markers, and markers browsed in the database.
